Society for Medical Assistance to the Poor
The aim of the society is to provide financial assistance to poor patients suffering from terminal diseases.
Eligibility
- The annual family income of the patient should be less than three lakh rupees.
Benefits
- The medical assistance through the society is up to Rs.50,000. Financial aid is allowed only once per patient. If any other government grant (CHIS/CHIS PLUS etc.) is available, the cost of treatment in excess of that amount can be allowed up to Rs.50,000.

- A certificate from the treating doctor stating that the patient has incurred the expenses.

- Income certificate issued by the concerned Village Officer.
- Copy of patient's Voter's Identity Card or Aadhaar Card
Procedure
- The eligible person for Medical Assistance is notified by letter, and an acknowledgment of receipt is obtained in advance. The financial assistance is then sent to the patient by registered post as an account payee check through the bank.
- Procedure for obtaining financial assistance for heirs in the event of the patient's death after submitting the application
- For this application should be made on white paper by the heir of the deceased to the member secretary of the society.
