The Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neurosciences (ICCONS) is a pioneering institution under the Government of Kerala, specializing in the management, rehabilitation, education, and research of developmental and acquired neurological disabilities. It provides comprehensive care for conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, stroke-related impairments, and degenerative neurological disorders. The center focuses on cognitive, language, and motor function disorders, offering services through a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, pediatricians, audiologists, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and special educators.
ICCONS operates multiple specialized units, including a hospital, rehabilitation wing, paramedical college, special school, and genetic lab. Its Shoranur facility is equipped with inpatient wards, emergency services, and an advanced neuro-electrophysiology lab. The institute provides affordable and inclusive healthcare, with nearly 90% of patients receiving treatment at highly subsidized rates, ensuring access to quality care for all sections of society.
