
Seven More Health Institutions in Kerala Receive National Quality Accreditation

Seven more health institutions in Kerala have received National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) accreditation. Of these, three institutions received new accreditation, while four were reaccredited after completing three years.
The newly accredited institutions are Engandiyoor Family Health Centre in Thrissur with a score of 89.85%, Manalur Family Health Centre in Thrissur with 94.32%, and Velamanoor Public Health Centre in Kollam with 86.89%.
The institutions that were reaccredited include Kodakara Family Health Centre in Thrissur with 87.64%, Mundoor Family Health Centre in Thrissur with 96.63%, Kallunira Vadakara Urban Family Health Centre in Kozhikode with 86.37%, and Payyanakkal Urban Family Health Centre in Kozhikode with 84.87%.
With this, a total of 233 health institutions in the state have received NQAS accreditation. This includes 7 district hospitals, 5 taluk hospitals, 11 community health centres, 46 urban family health centres, 154 family health centres, and 10 public health centres.
The NQAS accreditation is valid for three years. After this period, a national-level review will be conducted, along with an annual inspection at the state level.
Accredited institutions are also eligible for financial incentives. Family Health Centres and Urban Primary Health Centres will receive Rs. 2 lakh annually. Janakiya Arogya Kendras will get Rs. 18,000 per package, while other hospitals will receive Rs. 10,000 per bed.
