National Conclave of Blood Transfusion  Services (BTS) under the leadership of the Directorate General of Health Services and the National Blood Transfusion Council, the Conclave on 5/02/2025 & 6/02/2025 at the Le Meridien, Convention Centre at Kochi in Kerala. The conclave was inaugurated by Dr. Vijaya Modgere, Additional Director General of Health Services. In her address, she emphasized the need for tireless efforts to achieve the goal of 100% voluntary blood donation in India and stressed the importance of intensifying research activities in the field of blood transfusion. Following this, Dr. Krishan Kumar, Director of the National Blood Transfusion Council, addressed the gathering. He spoke about the importance of voluntary blood donation and the need to strengthen the efforts to encourage more people in society to voluntarily donate blood. He also highlighted the significance of transfusion medicine and expressed his vision of rapid progress of blood transfusion services in India.

Guidelines for Voluntary Blood Donation for the country released in the presence of Dr. Sreelatha R, Additional Director of the Department of Health Services (Kerala) and Vice Chairperson of the Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council.  Also present at the event were senior officials from the Directorate General of Health Services, including Dr. Megha Parvin Kobragade, Assistant Director General of Health Services, and Dr. Manas Pratim Roy, Assistant Director General of Health Services, WHO representatives along with members of State Blood Transfusion Councils from all the states and union territories of India, and officials from blood banks recognized for their outstanding performance.
