The Homeopathy Department launched a special project called Janani to make the excellence of homoeopathic medicines in infertility treatment freely available to the common people.

Considering the success of infertility treatments in the gynecology outpatient de-partments of selected government hospitals since 2008, a pilot project named "Ammayum Kunjum" was initiated in 2012 at the Kannur District Homoeopathy Hospital to provide infertility treatment. This year, infertility treatment outpatient services were started once a week in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram as part of Seethalayam. The outstanding success of these centers led to the expansion of infer-tility treatment units to other districts.

With the operational excellence of this project, now more than 3375 babies have been born under the Janani initiative. Recognizing the unprecedented success of the project, the Kerala government declared the Janani unit in Kannur as a Centre for Excellence in 2017 and allocated an initial amount for the development of advanced infrastructure, with construction work currently underway.

In 2019, Janani was the only project mentioned in the Central Government's AYUSH economic survey, which stands as proof of the project's significance not only in Kerala but also in India's healthcare sector as a whole.

Objectives

•    To effectively implement initiatives that bring the potential of homoeopathy in infertility treatment to the public at an affordable cost.
•    To efficiently collect records that help establish the scientific validity of homoeopathy in infertility treatment.
•    To transform "Janani," the annual project, into a permanent 'Specialty Centre' through enhanced operational efficiency.
•    To assist couples who have undergone long-term treatments without success in fulfilling their dream of having a child through homoeopathic treatment.

Beneficiaries

Families (men and women) who have infertility and desire children are the beneficiaries of this project.
