The Blood bag traceability Phase II - Citizen Interaction Portal for promoting speedy, safe & voluntary blood donation is an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing the way blood is managed, stored, and transported across Kerala. This initiative addresses critical challenges in the blood supply chain, ensuring safety, traceability, and efficiency at all stages. By implementing cutting-edge technologies like IoT and RFID in tracking devices, the project creates a reliable framework for monitoring blood products in real-time while improving public access to essential resources.
At its core, the project integrates data acquisition automation, centralized monitoring, and citizen centric tools to establish a seamless system that benefits donors, healthcare providers, and patients. The initiative will span 43 Blood Collection Centres (BCCs) and 47 Blood Storage Centres (BSCs), covering the entire state. Additionally, it introduces IoT-enabled tracking for maintaining the integrity of the cold chain during blood transportation, ensuring that the blood remains safe and viable.
The Citizen Interaction Portal will serve as a digital interface for the public, allowing them to access real -time information on blood availability across districts and blood centres. This transparency helps reduce delays in finding the right blood products during emergencies. The platform also bridges the gap between blood centres and the community by promoting awareness about blood donation and fostering collaboration.
Collaboration between key stakeholders, including K-DISC, KSACS, Bagmo Pvt Ltd, and the participating blood centres, ensures a robust project management and execution framework.
