Alpam Sradha Arogyam Urapp; Lifestyle Disease Screening hits 8 million

Around 80 lakh people across the state have been screened at their homes as part of the Alpam Shraddha Arogyam Urapp campaign implemented by the Health Department to detect the spread of or disposition to lifestyle diseases. Out of the 79,41,962  people screened so far, 19.97 % (15,86,661) have fallen into the risk factor group for any serious disease. They have been subjected to expert examination. 11.02 % (8,75,236) had hypertension, 8.88 % ((7,05,475) diabetes and  3.88 % (3,08,825) suspected both. Cancer Care Screening Dashboard portal has been set up to ensure follow-up diagnostics and treatment of people suspected to be at risk of cancer.Through the campaign, 6.49 % (5,15,938) suspected cancer and were referred for treatment. Among these 0.32% were referred for colon cancer, 5.53% for breast cancer, and 0.79% for suspected uterine cancer.Free diagnosis and treatment are provided to those who need it.

Screening is carried out by health workers at home through means of an Android application designed by eHealth. The available information helps the health department to take follow-up measures and provide free diagnosis and treatment to those who need it.The project is being implemented as a part of Navkeralam Action Plan Ardram Mission II.
