Achievements of ISM

The various achievements of ISM are: 

NABH Entry Level Certification for 62 ISM Dispensaries thus making a total of 148 NABH Certified ISM Dispensaries

Among 250 AHWCs , 86 ISM institutions (including 84 Ayurveda , 1Sidha, 1 Unani ) were certified during PHASE 1. In Second PHASE 62 ISM institutions got certified (including 1 Sidha and 61 Ayurveda institutions ) thus making a total of 148 NABH Certified ISM Dispensaries.

NABH Ayush Entry Level Certification is an assessment based on basic infrastructure and facility development ,essential furniture and equipments, quality of care, quality in management of medication, Hospital infection control, Quality in documentation of OPD and
patient records ,HR management thus developing patient friendly,patient safety atmosphere in health care facility.A time-bound action plan was formulated at the state and district levels to achieve NABH entry level certification. As part of this, State level steering committee constituting Directors of ISM and Homeopathy Departments, State Programme Managers NAM , State Quality Nodal Officers of ISM and Homeopathy , State Quality Consultant NAM .

District level nodal officers and facilitators were identified in each district to implement and co-ordinate NABH activities. District Level Quality Team was constituted with District Programme Manager NAM, District Medical officer, District nodal officer , District facilitator. State level orientation classes were given to quality teams and community health officers on NABH Certification . LSGD members were sensitized at district level. Staff orientation done at district level and facility level.Three levels of internal assessments were done for finding Non-compliances using NABH AELC CHECKLIST.


1. Self-assessment / Facility level
2. District level – assessment by District quality team
3. State level – assessment by State assessors


The selected Assessors conducted the assessments, compiled the report and took steps to address the shortcomings . This multiple level assessment enabled CHO and team to take steps for Corrective and Preventive action and face National Assessment with minimum gaps.
An assessment management committee was formed for scheduling internal assessments and analysing reports.

Documentation team was also formed to carry out the necessary documentation activities.
The successful completion of the second phase was possible due to the sincerity and continuous efforts of everyone involved
